If you are interested in any of the following liturgical ministries, please call the Parish Office (827-5575) or the contact person listed. Final approval rests with the Pastor; training is provided. Ministers are scheduled on a two-month rotation; which is established and distributed by the Parish Office.  Opportunities are also available for young people; please refer to the Youth Commitment Card.

 

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Assist the priest in the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass.

 

Communion to the Homebound / Hospital

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Eucharist distribute the sacrament to the homebound in nursing homes, private residences, and the hospital.

Lectors

Proclaim the Word of God during parish liturgies.

Adult Altar Servers (daily and/or funeral Masses)

Assist the presider in the liturgical celebration.  Open to men and women.

 

Cantors

Encourage the assembly to participate in the sung prayer during the celebration of parish liturgies.

 

Musicians (organist, pianist, guitar)

Accompany the cantors in leading the community to sing.

 

Greeters

Welcome people as they arrive at Mass, offering a missalette and bulletin.

Gift Bearers

Present the food basket, the prayer basket, the money basket, and the bread and wine during Mass.  Individuals, couples, and families interested in this should visit with the priest or someone in the Ministry Room (in the Gathering Area) prior to Mass.

 

Ushers

Help parishioners find a seat, if necessary; take up the collection or find someone to help; and maintain a sense of decorum in the Gathering Area, Cry Room, etc.

Sacristans

Provide general care for the items in the sacristy and the altar area.  Volunteers work on a rotation schedule, serving two or three times a year.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word Facilitator

Using materials provided, adult facilitators provide an age-appropriate understanding of the Sunday readings.  Children’s Liturgy of the Word occurs during the 10:00 Mass on Sundays during the school year for children Pre-K through 2nd grade.
